Workshop on IPRs – Scope and Relevance
The Intellectual Property Rights Cell in association with IQAC organised a workshop on “IPRs – Scope and Relevance” on 29th January 2026. Dr. Krishna Prasad K, Associate Professor, AJ Institute of Engineering, was the resource person for the workshop.
Key Highlights of the Session
The resource person explained the concept, scope, and significance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) in protecting innovation, creativity, and research outcomes. The session covered various forms of IPRs, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, industrial designs, and geographical indications.
The speaker emphasized the importance of protecting intellectual assets, preventing plagiarism, and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. Participants were also introduced to the basic procedures involved in obtaining IPR protection and the role of IPRs in research commercialization and economic development.
The interactive session enhanced awareness among students and faculty regarding the relevance of IPRs in academic and professional domains.
The programme was attended by both sections of second-year MBA students. Ms. Sushmitha of 2nd-year MBA was the Master of Ceremony of the programme. Ms. Sahana welcomed and introduced the chief guest, while Mr. Abhilash proposed the vote of thanks.
Mr. Sharan assisted in coordinating the programme. Dr. Bharath V welcomed the chief guest, and Dr. P. S. Aithal presided over the programme.
