Eco Club

Eco-clubs play an important role in creating environmental awareness amongst the future generation. It is a platform where we get knowledge about the environment. It also enables the students to be sensitive to environmental concern to tackle environmental problems.

Objectives of Eco Club

  1. To teach the environment-friendly habits in Student.
  2. To promote such activities which stop the degradation of nature and improve the condition of our natural environment.
  3. To inspire Students to understand birds animals and plants around them to consider them as citizens of the earth
  4. To help students to spread the message of conservation of nature.
  5. To make Student understand the importance of rainwater harvesting
  6. To help Student to indulge in the conservation of nonrenewable energy resources
  7. To promote the dependence on renewable resources.
  8. To help students to work towards the prevention of pollution of water air and soil
  9. To work together with local environmental agencies and NGOs

Activities of Eco Club.

  1. Plantation of saplings in the campus and in the neighbourhood.
  2. Maintenance of existing saplings.
  3. Documentation and preservation of medicinal plants.
  4.  Trekking and nature walk.
  5. Environmental consciousness programme within the campus and in the locality.
  6. Rainwater harvesting awareness.Competitions like Quiz. Poster painting.
  7. Seminars and discussions.
  8. Organise rallies, marches, human chains and street theatre at public places with a view to spread environmental awareness {If possible on EARTH DAY (April 22), WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY or ECO DAY (June 5)}.
  9. Sensitize the students to minimize the use of plastic bags, not to throw them in public places as they choke drains and sewers, cause water logging and provide a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
