The Business Perspectives Session under Prajna Vaibhavam was conducted at the Prajna Hall of the Institute on 19th June 2026. The session featured case presentations by two teams from the First-Year MBA (2025–27 Batch), providing a platform for students to demonstrate their analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and business decision-making skills.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Ms. Eshwari. The Business Perspectives Session was organized under the guidance of the event coordinators, Dr. Diana Saldanha and Prof. Venkatesh Shetty, faculty members of the Department of MBA.
The business case assigned to the teams focused on a workplace pay disparity issue and the challenges involved in balancing employee welfare, transparency, organizational sustainability, and corporate governance. The case required participants to analyze the issue from different stakeholder perspectives and propose practical and sustainable solutions.
The two presenting teams and their business perspectives were as follows:
- Team C presented the case from the perspective of an Employee Advocacy Council, emphasizing fair pay correction, transparency, employee trust, and long-term safeguards against future disparities.
- Team J presented the case from the perspective of an Executive Leadership Committee, focusing on managing financial impact, maintaining investor confidence, protecting organizational reputation, and ensuring business sustainability.
The session was evaluated by Dr. Bharathi Karanth and Dr. Diana Saldanha, faculty members of the Department of MBA, who assessed the teams based on their analysis, presentation skills, practicality of recommendations, and overall effectiveness of their proposed solutions.
Interactive Question-and-Answer Session
Following the presentations, an interactive question-and-answer session was conducted. Students and faculty members raised several insightful questions regarding the solutions and recommendations proposed by both teams. The following questions were asked:
- Poornesh (Team E): What safeguarding measures would you implement to prevent similar disparities in the future?
- Prithviraj (Team A): What would you propose to protect both IPO readiness and employee morale simultaneously?
- Ananth (Team B): How can salary transparency improve employee trust within the organization?
- Sonica (Team P): If the company spends ₹18 crore on pay correction, which business activities should be reduced or adjusted to fund it?
- Ananth (Team I): How can the company ensure that future promotions are fair and unbiased?
- Anwesh (Team I): How will the company rebuild trust among female employees following the disclosure of pay disparities?
- Sakshi (Team O): How can diversity and inclusion initiatives contribute to the company’s long-term performance?
- Hena (Team K): Is fairness more important than profitability in organizational decision-making?
The judges appreciated the efforts of both teams in examining a contemporary organizational issue from contrasting stakeholder perspectives. The session encouraged meaningful discussions on workplace equity, leadership responsibilities, transparency, employee engagement, and sustainable business practices.
The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Chaitra. The Business Perspectives Round concluded successfully with active participation from students and faculty members.
