The Research Cell at PIM organized an informative session aimed at bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application of Research for the benefit of society. This event featured Dr. Pruthvishree, an expert from the Emergency Department at KMC, who shared her insights on Experimental Research Design with PG students.

Setting the Purpose: The primary goal of this workshop was to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the practical applications of Experimental Research Design, a widely utilized research methodology. Additionally, it aimed to impart awareness of the ethical considerations that are integral to research endeavors.
An Ethical Approach: Dr. Pruthvishree, currently engaged in a scientific research project with profound societal implications, exemplified ethical research practices. She sought informal consent from the students before administering a questionnaire designed to measure their awareness of specific subject matter. To ensure data authenticity, Dr. Pruthvishree personally supervised the questionnaire administration, highlighting the significance of direct interaction in data collection.
Introducing Dr. Pruthvishree Ravindra: Dr. Pruthvishree Ravindra, an Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at KMC, enlightened MBA students on the critical topic of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Her research aims to assess the awareness levels of CRP among the youth and identify strategies for its enhancement.
Research Methodology: Dr. Pruthvishree elaborated on her research methodology, where she selected postgraduate students from PPC campus as the control group and students from Manipal Centre for Communication as the intervention group. The intervention group would receive targeted awareness campaigns about CRP, while the control group would remain unexposed to any interventions.
Measuring Impact: The research would evaluate whether these interventions significantly increased awareness about CRP usage. After six months, both groups would undergo data collection through a set of questionnaires. This process would be repeated at another six-month interval for both groups. Subsequently, the gathered data would undergo comprehensive analysis and comparison.
Practical Implications: Following this research, a workshop will be conducted for PIM students, shedding light on the practical benefits of CRP. Additionally, hands-on training in CRP techniques will be provided.
Program Organizers: Dr. Krishna Kothai, the coordinator of the PIM Center for Research and Development (PCRD), spearheaded this program. The coordination of this event was skillfully managed by Dr. Bharathi Karanth, a member of the Research Cell at PIM.

This informative and ethically-driven initiative exemplified the practical application of research methodologies and their potential to benefit society in meaningful ways.
