Extension Programme by Research Cell of PIM “Hands only CPR Training”

On 6th October, a significant hands-only CPR training workshop was organized jointly by Research Cell of Poornaprajna Institute of Management Poornaprajna Rotary Manipal Centre for social empowerment, Department Of Emergency Medicine, KMC, MAHE, Centre For Cardiac Arrest Research Education-KMC,MAHE Centre For Save-KMC,MAHE,Centre For Disaster Management-KMC,MAHE,Department Of Emergency Medicine Technology-MCHP   MAHE

 The event was graced by expert resource persons Dr. Pruthvishree Associate Professor,Emergency Medicine department of Mahe,  Dr. Rachana, Prof. Karthik, Prof.Shwetha Kulal and the student team of emergency medicine department namely Ms.Subabibam Ms.Sayali, Ms.Shruthi R, Ms.Anusha, Ms.Anusha Acharya, Ms.Gauthami .  Additionally, the presence of esteemed guests such as Rotarian Shubha HS, Rotarian Sripathi, Dr. Krishna Kothai , and Dr. Bharath V, Director of the Institute, added to the event’s significance.

The workshop’s primary objectives were to raise awareness about the crucial role of CPR during cardiac arrest emergencies, equip participants with the knowledge and skills to perform hands-only CPR effectively, and promote a culture of preparedness and community involvement in life-saving techniques.

The event commenced with a solemn Invocation by Ms. Navya Prabhu and Team, which set a respectful and purposeful tone for the day. Following this, Dr. Bharathi Karanth, the coordinator of the Research Cell of PIM, extended a warm welcome to all participants and distinguished guests.

Rotarian Shubha HS shared inspiring words, emphasizing the importance of community engagement and CPR training. Dr. Krishna Kothai provided an overview of the day’s program, highlighting the significance of hands-only CPR training. Rotarian Sripathi Dr. Bharath V, the Director of the Institute, shared insights into the importance of CPR in saving lives.

The core of the workshop featured hands-on training sessions, expertly led by Dr. Pruthvishree, Dr. Rachana, Prof. Karthik, Prof.Shwetha Kulal along with students of EMD, learned the essential skills and techniques for performing hands-only CPR effectively. The students were also briefed on how to use AED(Automated External Defibrillator),which is used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms.Minaz Noori. Ms.Ashwini of 1st MBA was the Master of ceremony of the program.

The event not only educated the students on the importance of CPR but also empowered them with practical skills that can make a difference in critical situations. The presence of esteemed guests and experts added credibility and depth to the workshop’s impact
