Prof. Diana Saldanha of Poornaprajna Institute of Management was invited as chief guest on the occasion of Hindi Diwas organized in Sri Poornaprajna Evening College Udupi on 14th September 2023.
Hindi Day is observed on 14th September every year to commemorate the Constituent Assembly of India making Hindi the official language of the Union Government.
The formal function was presided by Dr. Sukanya Mary J, the Principal of the college. Dr. Rakshith Kumar Shetty, the faculty of Hindi Department gave introductory remarks. Prof. Roshni Rani, faculty of English Department attended the event along with the different batches of students from the college.
Prof. Diana Saldanha, who happens to be a fluent Hindi speaker and writer, spoke regarding the importance of Hindi in our lives and impressed upon the need to learn it. She offered certain tips and tricks that could be used by the participants to make learning Hindi easy and interesting. Language appreciation was developed by singing patriotic songs in Hindi and reciting Hindi poetry.
