FINSPARK -2018: A PASSION TO PERFORM…. INHOUSE FINANCE FEST ORGANISED BY FINANCE FORUM OF PIM

Finspark is the result of an initiative of the financial management specialisation students of Poornaprajna Institute of management, Udupi.  The 2nd year MBA financial management students of 2016-18 batch created history in PIM by organising a half day in-house finance fest named ‘Finspark’ for both the first year and second year students of PIM on 6th April 2018 at Prajna Hall. 

Finspark is the brainchild of the finance specialisation students of the 2016-18 batch with a core team comprising of Mr.Iston Ferrao, Ms.Jezel D’souza and Ms.Joyline D’souza and all the rest 36 students strongly behind the core team organised and executed the programme in the most disciplined and systematic manner possible. 

The finance team had well thought out on the objectives and path to be followed through their series of discussions with their teammates.  The fest was organised with few objectives
  • To provide an opportunity for all the first- and second-year MBA students of PIM a cherishable experience of participating in a professionally managed in-house activities
  • To display and prove professionalism in conducting any in-house activities.
  •  To give maximum benefit to the participants with minimum expenditure for conducting the programme. 
TheFinspark involved several rounds of activities and brainstorming sessions for the students along with fun games.  The whole finance team conducted the programme in a disciplined and result-oriented manner.  The programme involved the students to tick the answers for the quiz programme known as quiz round and the selected groups participated in several rounds of a brain game activity called ‘Treasure hunt’.  Students who were eliminated in different rounds participated in various games organised by the finance students which involved singing, dancing, mimicry etc.  The whole programme engaged both the students and the teachers in its grip. 
The finance team had eliminated wasteful expenditure on flowers and mementoes and focussed only on providing maximum fun and satisfaction to the participants.  At the end of the programme a small formal programme was conducted with Dr.Krishna Kothai , the coordinator of PCRD and the professor emeritus of PIM as the Chief guest who gave a beautiful feedback of the programme and praised the PIM finance students for the professionalism displayed in organising the event and lauded the core team comprising of Iston, Jezel and Joyline for their excellent organising and execution skills. The programme was presided over by Dr.Bharath V , the Director of PIM and the faculty in charge of finance forum Mrs.Bharathi Karanth explained the efforts taken up by the students in organising the programme  without causing any financial burden to the organisation.
