The inaugural ceremony of the “TechXplore” – the MCA student’s forum of the department of MCA was held on 03 January 2026 at the institute premises. Ms. Sumangala Tunga, President and CEO of Prolake Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Sasthana, Udupi was the chief guest during the occasion and inaugurated the forum. In her inaugural address, she stressed on the importance of such forums and advised students to make the fullest usage of this forum wherein they can learn skills like communication, mass addressing, time management etc. She also complimented for proposing the diverse activities to the benefit of all MCA students. She also emphasized that the forum becomes successful when all students take part actively in all the events.
Dr. P.S. Aithal, the Director of PIM who was presiding over the function complemented the department for launching this forum and appreciated the new team who have planned many activities for this academic year. He also shared his concern on the impact of AI on IT job market and suggested students to be equipped with necessary skill-set in the AI driven job-market.
Prof. Venugopala Rao A S., Head of the MCA department introduced the new office bearers of the forum and administered the vote to them. Mr. Aneesh Bhat, II-year MCA student and also the president of the forum proposed a detailed roadmap of the forum for the current academic year which involved various events for the holistic development of the MCA students.
Ms. Anagha Bhat, II-year MCA student, who is also Secretary of the forum, welcomed the gathering, while Mr U Shrinivas Udupa, I year MCA student and also Vice President of the forum proposed vote of thanks. The program began with the invocation by Ms. Bhargavi and Team of II-year MCA and was compeered by Ms. Akshatha, student of I-year MCA. Ms. Nishitha of I-year MCA introduced the chief Guest.
After the formal inaugural ceremony, Ms. Sumangala Tunga interacted with the students on most relevant topic – “Employability and Professionalism” In her session she elaborated on the level of preparedness one must have before applying for placement in any Company. She also made it a point to mention about right attitude, and firm commitment –“Sankalpa” and desire to fulfil the Sankalpa would lead in the path of success.
Faculty members of MCA and MBA departments and all students of MCA were present during the program.
