Poornaprajna Institute of Management (PIM), Udupi, in association with the PIM Alumni Association, organised an Alumni Get-Together on Saturday, 31 October 2026, at PV Hall PIM. The informal gathering brought together interested alumni from different batches to reconnect with their alma mater and collectively discuss plans for Poornasammilana, the grand alumni meet commemorating 20 years of PIM.
The programme commenced with Dr. Diana Saldanha, staff co-ordinator of PIM Alumni Association serving as the Master of Ceremonies and welcoming the gathering. The Director, Dr. P. S. Aithal, delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the importance of maintaining a strong and meaningful relationship between the institution and its alumni.
Dr. Praveen Kumar, Working President of the PIM Alumni Association, presented the agenda and facilitated an open discussion. The gathering provided an opportunity for alumni to introduce themselves, share their respective batches, and speak about their current professional designations and career journeys. The interaction fostered a sense of camaraderie and offered an opportunity to reconnect with fellow PIMites.
Several constructive suggestions emerged during the discussion. Apart from planning the grand alumni meet, participants explored possibilities for organising blood donation camps with alumni participation, involving alumni as resource persons in workshops and placement-related activities, and creating podcasts featuring alumni experiences and professional journeys. Showcasing the diverse talents and achievements of alumni was also discussed as a way of encouraging greater participation and sustained engagement with the association.
A key outcome of the meeting was the announcement of 24 April 2027 as the date for Poornasammilana, the grand alumni meet marking the 20-year journey of PIM. Alumni were encouraged to take an active role in reaching out to their respective batchmates, spreading the word, and mobilising maximum participation from every batch to make the celebration a memorable occasion.
As part of the programme, Mrs. Preetha Maipady, Secretary of the PIM Alumni Association, offered floral tributes to the Director, Dr. P. S. Aithal, and the Academic Coordinator, Dr. Bharathi Karanth. Dr. Praveen Kumar, Working President of the Alumni Association, offered a floral tribute to Dr. Naveen Kumar, IQAC Coordinator of PIM.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Sushma, Vice President of the Alumni Association, representing the MCA alumni. She expressed gratitude to the institutional leadership, office bearers, and participating alumni for their presence and contributions.
The get-together served as an important platform for strengthening alumni connections and initiating collaborative efforts towards Poornasammilana 2027. The enthusiasm and ideas shared by the participants reaffirmed the importance of alumni engagement in the continued growth and development of the institution.
