Udupi, September 8, 2026: Poornaprajna Institute of Management (PIM), Udupi, successfully organised “Poorna Udyoga Mela 2026”, a campus-wide Job Fair for the undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Poornaprajna Campus, Udupi, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
The event was organised with the objective of bringing students and prospective employers onto a common platform, enabling students to explore employment and internship opportunities across diverse sectors. The theme of the Job Fair, “Discover Opportunities. Build Your Future,” reflected the institution’s emphasis on employability, industry exposure and career preparedness.
The Job Fair was jointly organised by POORNAKASH – The Training & Placement Cell of PIM, in collaboration with the PIM Alumni Association and Phronesis – The HR Club. The event received wholehearted support from the teaching and non-teaching staff, students of PIM, and the various UG and PG departments of the Poornaprajna Campus.
The programme was held in the presence of all esteemed HR delegates of all 25 + participating organizations, Dr. P. S. Aithal, Director, Poornaprajna Institute of Management, Prof. Shivanand Bhandarkar, Placement Coordinator, Poornaprajna Campus, Udupi, Prof. Venkatesh Shetty. and all other teaching and non-teaching staff of the institute. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp marked the commencement of the event, symbolizing knowledge, opportunity and a promising future for the participating students.
Strong Industry Participation
Poorna Udyoga Mela 2026 witnessed participation from organisations representing sectors such as information technology, banking and financial services, insurance, automobiles, retail, renewable energy, construction solutions, staffing, software services and allied industries. The presence of recruiters from multiple sectors provided students with an opportunity to understand contemporary industry expectations and participate in recruitment processes suited to their qualifications and career interests.
Among the organisations that subsequently shortlisted candidates were Influence Exchange Event Management Company, Harsha Prakash Retail Pvt. Ltd., Muthoot Finance, Karnataka Agencies–Mahindra, SELCO Solar, Udupi IT Association, MAPEI Construction Solutions and TATA AIA. The shortlisting records demonstrate opportunities across MBA, M.Com, BBA, BCA and other programmes, including both regular employment and internship opportunities.
The Job Fair also generated encouraging outcomes for students from the technology and management streams. Almasons Technologies considered MCA students for Software Developer positions and MBA students for Business Analyst roles, with several candidates shortlisted for subsequent rounds of selection.
Manipal Academy of BFSI recorded selections across several academic backgrounds, including B.Com, M.Com, MCA and MBA, illustrating the broad-based opportunities created through the fair for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Fourteen candidates were recorded as selected in the selection-status report.
Kakunje Software shortlisted students from MBA, BBA, BCA-AIML, MCA and BCA programmes, with some students also being considered for internship opportunities. Punarnava Insurance Broking Pvt. Ltd. shortlisted additional students, further strengthening the recruitment outcomes of the event.
Opportunities Beyond Immediate Placement
A significant feature of Poorna Udyoga Mela 2026 was that the event went beyond immediate job placement. Students had the opportunity to interact directly with recruiters, understand different organisational cultures, gain exposure to interview processes and learn about the skills and competencies sought by employers.
For many students, particularly those appearing for recruitment processes for the first time, the Job Fair provided valuable practical experience in resume presentation, professional communication, interview etiquette, employer interaction and career decision-making. Internship opportunities offered by participating organisations also provided younger students with avenues to gain industry exposure before completing their academic programmes.
The participation of students belonging to MBA, MCA, M.Com, B.Com, BBA, BCA and allied programmes highlighted the inclusive and campus-wide character of the event.
Student-Led Coordination
The student placement coordinators of POORNAKASH played an important role in the successful execution of the Job Fair. Working under the guidance of the faculty coordinators, the student team assisted recruiters, coordinated interview schedules, guided candidates, managed company requirements and ensured the smooth movement of students throughout the recruitment process.
Their involvement provided them with valuable experience in event management, corporate coordination, teamwork, communication and leadership.
The contribution of the PIM Alumni Association added another important dimension to the programme by strengthening the connection between the institution, its alumni and industry. The collaboration with Phronesis – The HR Club further enabled students to apply their knowledge of Human Resource Management in a live recruitment environment.

The success of Poorna Udyoga Mela 2026 was made possible through the collective efforts of the management, Director, faculty members, staff, placement team, alumni, student coordinators and students of the UG and PG departments of Poornaprajna Campus.
The enthusiastic participation of recruiters and students, together with the encouraging number of shortlists, selections, internships and next-round opportunities generated through the fair, demonstrated the value of sustained industry–institution interaction.
