Prajna Vaibhavam : MBA Batch 2025–27 – Group Discussion Event (Session-3)

The Department of Management Studies hosted the third session of Prajna Vaibhavam (PV) for the MBA Batch of 2025–27 on Friday, 12th December 2025 at PV Hall, PIM. This session continued the exciting academic journey for the new batch, with a Group Discussion (GD) activity designed to build critical thinking, communication skills, and teamwork among first-year students..

The event commenced with the Master of Ceremony, Ms. Eshwari Salian (I MBA – Section A), who extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries, including Dr. P. S. Aithal (Director, PIM), Dr. Krishna Kothai (Professor Emeritus, PIM), Dr. Diana Saldanha, Prof. Venkatesh Shetty (PV Coordinators), faculty members, staff, and all participants. The session began on an energetic note, with an inspiring message that encouraged students to break boundaries and pursue their dreams—setting a positive tone for the discussions ahead.

Ms. Amrutha K (I MBA – Section A) delivered the formal welcome address, after which the GD rounds began. Ms. Ankita (I MBA – Section A) served as the timekeeper, clearly explaining the 10-minute discussion format and feedback process. The judging panel included Dr. Naveen Kumar and Dr. Diana Saldana, who observed and evaluated the discussions.

Four groups participated, each sharing thoughtful views on interesting and relevant topics:

Group E

Topic:Impact of ChatGPT on Creativity and Education”.

The team explored how AI tools like ChatGPT are changing the way we learn and create. They discussed how it can boost creativity and help with learning, while also pointing out the risks of overdependence and reduced originality.

Group F

Topic:Migration Causes Unemployment in Urban India – True or False?”.

This group looked at both sides of the issue. They talked about how migration brings opportunities and growth, but also how it can lead to job competition and pressure on city resources.

Group H

Topic:The Consumer is Not Really the King of the Market”.

Challenging a common belief, this group questioned whether consumers truly have control in the market. They explained how advertising and limited choices can influence decisions, making consumers less powerful than they seem.

All the teams showed great preparation, teamwork, and clarity in their discussions. The judges appreciated the students’ energy and encouraged them to keep improving their GD skills.

The session ended with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Ms. Nethravati (I MBA – Section A), who thanked the Director, faculty, judges, participants, and organizers for making the event meaningful and successful.

Overall, the session was a great success. It helped students grow in confidence, sharpen their thinking, and work better as a team—exactly what Prajna Vaibhavam aims to do. It also set a strong tone for the exciting academic and professional activities planned for the rest of the year.
