The Department of Management Studies organized the second session of Prajna Vaibhavam (PV) for the MBA Batch 2025–27, marking an engaging continuation of the academic journey for the new cohort on Friday, 5th December 2025. The session was conducted as a Group Discussion (GD) activity aimed at fostering critical thinking, effective communication, and collaborative learning among first-year students.
The event commenced with the Master of Ceremony, Ms. Pooja S Acharya (I MBA – Section B), who extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries, including Dr. P. S. Aithal, Director, PIM, Dr. Krishna Kothai, Professor Emeritus, PIM, Dr. Diana Saldanha (PV Coordinator), faculty members, non-teaching staff, and all participants. An inspiring message encouraging students to break boundaries and pursue their dreams set an energizing tone for the session.
The formal welcome address was delivered by Ms. Sakshi Shetty (I MBA – Section B), following which the program moved into the main GD rounds. Ms. Raksha (I MBA – Section B) efficiently served as the timekeeper, clearly outlining the 10-minute discussion format and the feedback procedure. The panel of judges consisted of Dr. Bharath V and Prof. Venkatesh Shetty (PV Coordinator).
A total of four groups participated each sharing well-reasoned viewpoints on contemporary topics:
Group I
Topic: “The Rise of Electric Vehicles and the Future of the Automotive Sector”.
The team explained the growing potential of electric vehicles and how they are shaping the future of the automotive industry, supporting their views with real-life examples.
Group J
Topic: “India’s Population Growth – A Demographic Dividend or Burden”.
The team discussed whether India’s rising population is an advantage or a challenge, presenting both sides of the issue in a balanced manner.
Group K
Topic: “Role of Startups in Economic Growth”.
The team emphasised the important role of startups in driving economic growth through innovation, job creation, and entrepreneurial development.
Group L
Topic: “Impact of Technology on Human Relationships”.
The team explored how technology influences human relationships, noting that it enhances connectivity but can also create distance in real-world interactions.
Each group demonstrated commendable preparation, teamwork, and clarity of thought throughout the discussion. The judges provided valuable feedback, appreciating the students’ enthusiasm and encouraging them to continue improving their GD skills.
The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Vaishnavi R Bhat (I MBA – Section B), who expressed gratitude to the Director, faculty members, judges, participants, and organizers for making the second session of Prajna Vaibhavam both meaningful and enriching.
The event, held in PV Hall, PIM, successfully achieved its objective of fostering analytical thinking, communication skills, and confidence among first-year MBA students. It marked a strong continuation of the PV initiative and set a positive tone for the academic and professional development activities planned for the year.
