CORPORATE INTERACTION WITH Mr. RANJITH – HR Manager, BIG BAZAAR UDUPI.

 

As a part of Learning and development the students of the HR specialization visited Big Bazaar on 2ndDecember 2021. The study was focused on learning the corporate practices that are adopted in the industry in the  functional area of Human Resources Management. 

Mr Ranjith, the HR Manager of Big Bazaar interacted and enlightened the students regarding the Big Bazar philosophy including the vision and mission of The Future group.

The session further was directed towards understanding the various functions of Human Resources Management right from the recruitment to the exit process. 

The briefing began with explaining the levels of operations and line of business at Big Bazaar. Later on, he updated the students about the recruitment process including internal as well as external sources which were used at Big Bazaar. He also explained about the interns/trainees being critically observed during their training period before considering them for the final recruitment. Adding further, he said that the employees who are selected would be placed in the respective departments after considering their qualifications and relevant experience.

He mentioned that employees are provided training on regular basis as and when the needs arise. These training are provided at the store level as well as cluster level depending on the situation.

Mr.Ranjith also spoke about the mandatory benefits like the Provident Fund, ESI and Gratuity along with voluntary benefits like uniforms, gift cards. As a unique initiative silver and gold coins are provided to the employees who have rendered extended years of service. There are also regular employee engagement activities which aim at motivating and lifting the spirit of the workforce.

The HR manager also briefed about the safety and security measures in the facility that ensure a safe working environment for the internal as well as external customers..

Mr. Sushanth and Ms. Ramya of II MBA coordinated the interaction while Ms Chaithra delivered the vote of Thanks.

Prof.Shivanand M Bhandarkar and Prof.Ashwin Correa, faculty members accompanied the students during the interaction.
