Extension programme organised by Women Empowerment Cell of PIM in association with the Udupi Zilla Kanakadasa Seva Samaja Regd.

Every day on news we are hearing about women being victimized. Girls have to protect themselves. Their self-confidence and discipline has to be boosted. With this in mind Women Empowerment Cell of PIM conducted a self-defence training programme to the children of members of Kanakadasa  Seva Sangha, Udupi on March 4th, 2014. The members (Students of PIM)of women empowerment cell trained the female children on how to prepare for  and stay safe in common real-world violent situations. Childrens were enlightened on preventionas the best self-defense. They were also taught some simple basic self-defence techniques like getloud and pushback, effective bodyparts to hit, how to maximise damage, defending against common holds and attacks etc. simple demonstrations was also made by the students of PIM. Aparna V welcomed the gathering, Meghana  proposed vote of thanks and Navyashree K conducted the programme. Other members of the Cell trained the children. Faculty coordinator Mrs. Sujatha G L coordinated the programme.
