On the 1st of March 2023, the Anti-Ragging Cell of Poornaprajna Institute of Management (PIM) conducted a comprehensive presentation for first-year MBA students, aiming to foster a safe and welcoming environment for all members of the academic community. The presentation, coordinated by Dr. Bharathi Karanth, the coordinator of PIM’s Anti-Ragging Cell, addressed key aspects related to anti-ragging laws in India, the functions of the cell, and the concept of harassment.
Senior students of PIM took the initiative to address the first-year cohort, providing insights into the anti-ragging laws prevalent in India. The presentation delved into the operational mechanisms of these laws and shed light on the proactive role played by the Anti-Ragging Cell at PIM. Emphasis was placed on clarifying the concept of harassment and identifying behaviors that constitute ragging.
During the informative session, the senior students, namely Ms. Kirthana, Ms. Ramyashreee, Mr. Trinish Suvares, Mr. Akshay A, Mr. Sooraj, Mr.Shriharsha Ms. Shreesha, Ms.Aishwarya actively participated in enlightening the first-year students. They reassured the incoming students that PIM is committed to fostering a friendly atmosphere characterized by mutual goodwill and collaboration between junior and senior students.
The senior students extended their support, emphasizing a team-oriented approach where both junior and senior students work together collaboratively. The commitment to creating a secure and inclusive environment was evident as the senior students pledged to be available for consultation and guidance on any matters of concern to the junior students.
The primary objective of the Anti-Ragging Cell’s presentation was to eliminate insecurities in the minds of the freshers, assuring them of a safe and respectful environment within the PIM community. The comprehensive approach of the presentation, coupled with the active involvement of both faculty and senior students, highlighted PIM’s commitment to ensuring the well-being and positive experiences of all its students. The Anti-Ragging Cell’s efforts in creating awareness and fostering a sense of unity and support among students contribute significantly to the overall well-being of the PIM academic community.
