PIM hosted the first session of Prajna Vaibhavam (PV) of the year 2026 for the MBA Batch of 2025–27 on Thursday, 29th October 2026 at PV Hall, PIM. This session continued the exciting academic journey for the existing batch, now in their second year, with a Group Discussion (GD) activity designed to build critical thinking, communication skills, and teamwork among second-year students.
The event commenced with the Master of Ceremony, Ms. Eshwari Salian (II MBA – Section A), who extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries, including Dr. P. S. Aithal (Director, PIM), Dr. Krishna Kothai (Professor Emeritus, PIM), Prof. Venkatesh Shetty and Prof Shivanand M Bhandarkar (PV Coordinators), faculty members, staff, and all participants. The session began on an energetic note, with an inspiring message that encouraged students to break boundaries and pursue their dreams—setting a positive tone for the discussions ahead.
Ms. Kavana (II MBA – Section A) delivered the formal welcome address, after which the GD rounds began. Ms. Deeksha & Mr. Chayanandan (II MBA – Section A) served as the timekeeper, clearly explaining the 15-minute discussion format and feedback process. The judging panel included Dr. Naveen Kumar K. R. and Prof. Shivanand M. Bhandarkar, who observed and evaluated the discussions.
Three groups participated, each sharing thoughtful views on interesting and relevant topics:

Group A
Topic: “Corporate layoffs following adoption of AI”
The group discussed how the increasing adoption of artificial intelligence is reshaping the corporate workforce. They highlighted how AI can improve productivity, reduce operational costs, and automate repetitive tasks. At the same time, they examined concerns about job displacement, large-scale layoffs, and the need for employees to reskill and adapt to emerging technologies.
Group B
Topic: “How is the falling rupee impacting the Indian economy”
The group examined both the positive and negative effects of the depreciation of the Indian rupee. They explained that a weaker rupee makes imports, fuel, foreign education, and international travel more expensive, potentially contributing to inflation. They also noted that it can benefit exporters and Indian companies earning revenue in foreign currencies.
Group I
Topic: “One nation, One election”
The group discussed the proposal to conduct elections to the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies simultaneously across India. They highlighted possible advantages, such as reduced election expenditure, less disruption to governance, and more efficient use of administrative resources.
All the teams showed great preparation, teamwork, and clarity in their discussions. The judges appreciated the students’ energy and encouraged them to keep improving their GD skills.
The session ended with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Ms. Jnanambha (II MBA – Section A), who thanked the Director, faculty, judges, participants, and organizers for making the event meaningful and successful.
Overall, the session was a great success. It helped students grow in confidence, sharpen their thinking, and work better as a team—exactly what Prajna Vaibhavam aims to do. It also set a strong tone for the exciting academic and professional activities planned for the rest of the year.
