The Department of Management Studies organized the first-ever Prajna Vaibhavam (PV) event for the MBA Batch 2025–27, marking an enthusiastic beginning to the academic journey of the new cohort on Friday 21st November 2025. The session was conducted as a Group Discussion (GD) activity, designed to enhance critical thinking, communication, and collaborative learning among the first-year students.
The event commenced with the Master of Ceremony, Ms. Sushma (I MBA – Section A), extending a warm welcome to the dignitaries, including Dr. P. S. Aithal, Director, PIM, Prof. Venkatesh Shetty (PV Coordinator), faculty members, non-teaching staff, and all participants. A motivational message on breaking boundaries and pursuing dreams set an inspiring tone for the session.
The formal welcome address was delivered by Ms. Rolita (I MBA – Section A), following which the event proceeded to the main GD rounds. Ms. Pranamya from I MBA Section A served as the timekeeper, clearly outlining the 10-minute discussion format and the feedback procedures. The panel of judges comprised Prof. Sujatha and Dr. Diana Saldanha, PV Coordinator.
Four dynamic groups participated, each presenting insightful perspectives on contemporary issues:
Group A
Topic: “Are Online Discounts Killing E-Commerce?”
The team explored how aggressive discounting strategies impact profitability, competition, and consumer behaviour in the digital marketplace.
Group B
Topic: “How Is Social Media Shaping Public Opinion?”
The discussion highlighted the influence of social media platforms on public perception, information flow, and societal trends.
Group C
Topic: “Should Work-From-Home Become a Permanent Corporate Policy?”
Participants examined both the advantages and challenges of long-term remote work models in the corporate world.
Group D
Topic: “How Is AI Impacting the Job Market?”
The group analysed the transformative effects of artificial intelligence on employment patterns, skill requirements, and future opportunities
Each group demonstrated commendable preparation, teamwork, and clarity of thought. The judges provided valuable feedback, appreciating the students’ enthusiasm and encouraging them to continue refining their GD skills.
The session concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Riya (I MBA Section A), expressing gratitude to the Director, faculty members, judges, participants, and organizers for making the inaugural Prajna Vaibhavam a meaningful and enriching experience.
The event held in PV Hall PIM, successfully achieved its objective of fostering analytical thinking and confidence among the first-year MBA students. It stands as a promising start to a series of academic and professional development activities planned for the year.
