Ph.D. PROGRAMME AT POORNAPRAJNA INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT
Poornaprajna Institute of Management is recognized as research center to offer Ph.D. Program in the Management domain. The Institute has research oriented, well qualified and experienced guides to mentor the aspiring scholars.
The admission to the Ph.D. program will be as per the guidelines laid by the Mangalore University.
The prescribed application forms along with the detailed notification may be obtained from the Institute office.
ELIGIBILITY
- Master’s Degree holders with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade, obtained from Mangalore University or any other University recognized as equivalent, are eligible to apply.
- Candidates who have completed their Master’s degree as per UGC 7-point scale or equivalent grading system with at least 55% (or its equivalent grade B or above) are eligible.
- Relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) is allowed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/Cat-I/non-creamy layer OBC and differently-abled candidates.
- Candidates possessing a degree declared equivalent to M.Phil. (by equivalence committee of any University) with dissertation work of at least one semester shall also be eligible.
- Candidates who obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September 1991 (as per UGC norms) are eligible with 55% marks or equivalent, provided the grading system was followed. A relaxation of 5% is applicable for SC/ST and other notified categories.
- Candidates with Phil. degree (regular mode) with at least 55% aggregate or equivalent grade in the 7-point scale are eligible. Relaxation norms similar to above apply.
- Candidates possessing degrees equivalent to M.Phil. with dissertation work of at least one semester are eligible for Ph.D admission.
SELECTION OF CANDIDATES
Selection shall be as per the Revised Common Regulations of Mangalore University governing Minimum Standards and Procedures for award of Ph.D. Degree–2018, (Notified vide Notification No MU/ACC/RS/04/2021-22).
General Instructions
- Self-attested copies of Caste Certificate and other relevant documents must be enclosed for claiming reservations.
- The application fee is non-refundable and non-adjustable.
- In-service candidates must submit applications through proper channel, with a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer.
- Research supervisors must have vacancies to consider new candidates.
- The University reserves the right to fill or not fill the vacant Ph.D. seats.
- Misleading information in the application will lead to automatic cancellation.
- Candidates selected must register within the stipulated date and pay the prescribed fees.
- Candidates receiving fellowships from the Government of Karnataka (RUSA/KSET/JRF/UGC/CSIR/ICMR/DBT etc.) must submit supporting documents.
- Candidates already receiving any other fellowship must submit a declaration.
