Poornaprajna Institute of Management: Training on developing empathy at workplace

A Training Session for Non-Teaching Employee of Poornaprajna Institute of Management was held on 3-8-2018 at Poornaprajna Institute of Management. Dr. Krishna Kothai, the Co-ordinator of PCRD  conducted the Programme. He explained in detail the importance of empathy at workplace. He further added that in the workplace, empathy can show a deep respect for co-workers and show that you care, as opposed to just going by rules and regulations.

Empathetic people listen attentively to what you’re telling them, putting their complete focus on the person in front of them and not getting easily distracted. They spend more time listening than talking because they want to understand the difficulties others face, all of which helps to give those around them the feeling of being heard and recognized“, he appealed to non teaching staff.

Dr. Bharath, the Director of the Institute presided over the function and stressed  that to be empathetic, one has to think beyond himself/herself and beyond their own concerns. Once you see beyond your own world, you’ll realize that there’s so much to discover and appreciate!

Dr. Naveen K.R., Associate Professor of the Institute welcomed the Chief Guest and Mr. Joe Ashwin Correa, Assistant Professor coordinated the programme.

Dr.Bharathi Karanth, Associate Professor proposed the vote of thanks.

All the non-teaching staff of the Institute attended the programme.
