Presentation of the socio-economic project report was held at PIM on 14th July 2022 at Prajna Hall by the first year MBA students in front of the director, faculty members and 2nd year MBA students
First year MBA students had undertaken a project report on the Socio-Economic Conditions of Unorganized Sections of the Society. The whole class was divided into 12 groups consisting of five members in each group. Each group had identified a specific weaker section of the society. They were given step by step instruction and guidance of faculty of PIM Dr. Bharathi Karanth.
First students were directed to read the existing literatures on socio-economic status of weaker sections in India and abroad. They were trained in using references in the Microsoft word and were asked to submit the literature review and the reference list. Students were enlightened about the formation of questionnaire, the different forms of questionnaire etc. After students identified the specific group of study, they were guided in preparation of the research proposal. The different contents of the research proposal were clearly explained to them. Few models of research proposals were given to them along with step by step direction. After going through the research proposal, each group was called for personal interaction with the faculty coordinator.
Students were given guidance about preparation of questionnaire, collection of data and entry of data in excel sheet. They were made to submit their questionnaires on a specified date in the google classroom. Students were also made to submit the excel sheet containing data collection , hard copies of the data collection were asked to be submitted. Analysis of the data and the final report prepared were also submitted by students in the google classroom. The hardcopy of the project was signed by the director as well as the faculty in charge Dr. Bharathi Karanth.
Finally students were made to present their findings through the PPT presentation infront of 2nd year MBA students, Dr. Krishna Kothai, the Coordinator of the PCRD, Faculty in charge and the director. Appropriate suggestions were given by Dr. Krishna Kothai for further improvement of the work.
