The Department of Management Studies organized the sixth event of Prajna Vaibhavam(PV) for the MBA Batch 2025-27,marking an engaging continuation of the journey on 16th January 2026. The event was conducted as a Group Debate activity with the objective of enhancing critical thinking, public speaking, and analytical skills among the students.
The event commenced with the Master of Ceremony, Mr Pratviraj (I MBA-Section A), who extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries, including Dr PS Aithal, Director PIM, Dr Bharathi Karanth, Prof. Venkatesh Shetty (PV Coordinator), and facaulty members including Dr Diana Saldanha, non teaching staffs and all the participants. The powerful message encouraging students to break the limits and pursue the goal set an energizing tone for the session
The formal welcome address was delivered by Ms Ashitha (I MBA-Section A), following which the program moved into the main Debate rounds. Ms Deeksha (I MBA-Section A) and Ms Neha (I MBA-Section B) served as the tossers for the first two rounds. Ms Keerthana (I MBA-Section B) and Ms Swarna (I MBA-A) served as the tossers for next two rounds. Ms Ananya (I MBA Section-B) efficiently served as the time keeper, clearly outlining the 10 minutes Debate format and the feedback procedure. The panel of judges consisted of Dr Bharathi Karanth and Prof. Venkatesh Shetty.
A total of eight groups participated ,four spoke in favour and other four spoke against an interesting topics:
Group E and Group O
Topic: “Is English the only official language of India? “.
Both groups presented well-researched points, logical reasoning, and effective rebuttals. The debate encouraged awareness about India’s linguistic diversity and constitutional provisions.
Group P and Group F
Topic: “Gender equality in workplace; Reality or Myth? “.
Both groups presented insightful arguments supported by examples and statistics. The debate encouraged critical thinking and raised awareness about existing challenges and progress related to gender equality
Group G and Group N
Topic: “Are Electric Cars the ultimate solution to Air Pollution? “.
Both groups presented logical arguments and effective rebuttals, making the debate informative and engaging. The session enhanced participants’ awareness of environmental issues and encouraged critical thinking and constructive discussion. Overall, the debate was insightful and educational.
Group H and Group M
Topic: “Is Privatisation the Solution to reduce Corruption? “.
Both groups presented logical arguments supported by relevant examples. The debate encouraged critical thinking and awareness of economic and governance issues.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with groups divided into favouring and opposing teams. Participants presented well-structured arguments, counterpoints, and conclusions, showcasing their preparation and understanding of the topics. The debate was moderated by judges, who ensured smooth conduct and fair evaluation throughout the session.
The session was concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr Chirag (I MBA Section-B), who expressed gratitude to the Director, faculty members, judges, participants, and organizers for making the sixth session of Prajna Vaibhavam both meaningful and enriching.
The event held in PV Hall, successfully achieved its objectives of providing a dynamic platform for first-year MBA students to express their views, engage in logical reasoning, and develop confidence in articulating arguments on contemporary and relevant issues.
It marked a strong continuation of the PV initiative and set a positive tone for the academic and professional development activities planned for the year
