The Finance Forum of PIM successfully organized a workshop on Personal Finance on March 13th, Thursday, at Prajna Hall. The session was conducted by Dr. Radhakrishna Sharma, an eminent expert in the field of finance who is currently serving as the Professor of Finance, JKSHIM, Nitte. The workshop was aimed at benefiting both 1st-year and 2nd-year MBA students, equipping them with essential financial knowledge and skills.
The programme was presided over by Dr. Sreeramana Aithal, Director of Poornaprajna Institute of Management. Ms. Nandini, a 2nd-year MBA student, was the Master of Ceremony. Mr. Ashray extended a warm welcome to the gathering, while Mr. Nithin Shet introduced the resource person. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Anusha Shet. The event was smoothly coordinated by Mr. Leeladhar, Mr. Vaishak, Ms. Shivani, and Mr. Sharoon, student coordinators of the Finance Forum.
Dr. Sharma delivered an insightful session covering key aspects of personal financial management, including budgeting, savings, investments, risk management, and retirement planning. He emphasized the importance of early financial planning and provided practical strategies for making informed financial decisions.
The interactive session allowed students to engage with the speaker through a Q&A segment, where they sought guidance on investment options, tax planning, and managing student finances. Dr. Sharma also highlighted real-life case studies, making the session both informative and engaging.
The workshop was well-received by the students, who appreciated the relevance of the topics discussed in relation to their personal and professional lives. Many participants expressed that the session had provided them with a better understanding of financial discipline and investment strategies.
As a token of appreciation, Dr. Bharath V, former Director of PIM, handed over a memento to the resource person. The workshop was successfully organized by Dr. Bharathi Karanth, staff coordinator of the Finance Club. Faculty members were also present and actively participated in the session.
