ED Cell organizes a workshop on “Self-Employment, Self-Reliance, and Strong Bharat” in association with Swadeshi Jagaran Manch.

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Poornaprajna Institute of Management, Udupi, in association with Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, organized a workshop on “Self-Employment, Entrepreneurship Development, and Self-Reliant Strong Bharat” on 12th September 2024 at Prajna Hall for MBA and MCA students.

Mr. K. Jagadish, coordinator of Swavalambi Bharat for the districts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Udupi, was the resource person for the workshop. Mr. Shyamprasad Kudva, a social worker and former President of the Municipality, played a key role in organizing the event.

Mr. Jagadish emphasized that India’s current model of development is leading to jobless growth, which is unsuitable for an agrarian economy like India. He advocated for a village-based development model to create employment opportunities. He encouraged students to become job providers, not job seekers, and to start early by adopting the “earn while you learn” mindset. He urged them to think big and innovatively, stating that no job is too small as long as it is legal and ethical. Mr. Jagadish also stressed the importance of prioritizing national and Swadeshi interests while gaining the trust of their families.

He discussed the issue of unemployment in India with various examples, highlighting that agriculture-based and home remedies would be more suitable for the country than industry-based and chemical alternatives.

Dr. Sriramana Aithal, Director of PIM, presided over the program and emphasized the need for every youth to develop a business mindset and become entrepreneurs at an early age.

The workshop was attended by MBA and MCA students. Dr. Bharath welcomed the members of Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, and Dr. Bharathi Karanth conducted the program
