The HR Forum at Poornaprajna Institute of Management (PIM), Udupi, inaugurated the Euphoria HR Week on 29th July 2024 at PV Hall. This week-long event, officially sponsored by Les Saveurs, Udupi, was graced by the presence of esteemed guests Mr. Shree Harsha Upadhya, CEO of Soup Master, Les Saveurs, and Ms. Akshatha Kamath N, an alumna of PIM and an art entrepreneur and educator. The event presided over by Dr. P.S. Aithal, Director of PIM, saw active participation from faculty, staff, and students.
The proceedings commenced at 3 PM with Navya Prabhu, a 2nd MBA student, serving as the MC. The college prayer was rendered by Navya and Sharanya, followed by a welcome speech from Sheethal of the 2nd MBA. Floral welcomes were extended to the dignitaries by Prof. Shivanand M. Bhandarkar, Prof. Bharathi Karanth, and Prof. Diana Saldanha, who also serves as the HR Forum coordinator. Mr. Shree Harsha Upadhya, introduced by Sameeksha, addressed the gathering and will judge the Cool Cuisine and Case Chronicles events. Ms. Akshatha Kamath N, introduced by Spandhana, spoke on the importance of gender neutrality in the workplace. Dr. P.S. Aithal congratulated Prof. Diana Saldanha and the organizing team for their efforts in enhancing students’ managerial skills and fostering academia-industry integration. The HR week was formally inaugurated by Dr, P.S. Aithal with the release of a video presentation enlisting the proposed activities for the week. The event concluded with Dr. Aithal presenting mementos to the guests of honor and a vote of thanks by Harshaprada of the 2nd MBA. The HR Week titled Euphoria 2024 will be taking place from 29th July 2024 to 2nd August 2024 in the format of an in-house management feast focusing on HR related themes merged with team building activities.
Euphoria 2024 – HR Week Report
Introduction
Euphoria 2024- the highly anticipated HR Week, was organized by HR Forum PIM in association with Les Saveurs, Udupi from 29th June 2024 to 2nd August 2024 in Poornaprajna Institute of Management. The week-long event has been a resounding success, bringing together students, faculty, and HR professionals to engage in a series of challenging and enriching activities. This year’s theme focused on fostering teamwork, enhancing HR knowledge, and developing essential skills such as time management, creativity, and leadership. The events and associated activities are as follows.
- Cool Cuisine
The event kicked off with Cool Cuisine, where 18 teams showcased their culinary hospitality and time management skills. This unique challenge required participants to prepare and present dishes within a limited timeframe, highlighting their ability to work efficiently under pressure. The culinary masterpieces presented by the teams were a testament to their creativity and organizational skills. Team Navaprajna, Team Mavericks and Team Viransha emerged the winners in this event bagging the first, second and third prizes respectively.
- Knowledge Knights
Knowledge Knights was an intense HR quiz designed to test participants’ HR knowledge and their ability to work under pressure. The quiz was conducted in two formats: online and offline, running simultaneously. Fifteen teams participated in this rigorous challenge, answering questions that ranged from fundamental HR concepts to current industry trends. The competition was fierce, with participants demonstrating impressive quick thinking and in-depth knowledge. Team Maverics emerged winners followed by team Smash emerging as the runners in this event.
- Fusion Fest
Fusion Fest featured a series of team-building activities spread across three rounds, each designed to test different aspects of HR skills:
- Round 1: Quick Thinking – Teams were given HR jumbled words to unscramble, testing their speed and accuracy.
- Round 2: HR Charades – Participants showcased their creativity and out-of-the-box thinking by acting out HR-related concepts for their teammates to guess.
- Round 3: HR Games – Teams engaged in various games aimed at boosting their stress management skills.
- Cohesion Carnival
Cohesion Carnival was the second round of team-building and management skills activities. This event included an HR Crossword and task activities designed to enhance multilevel thinking and leadership skills. Twelve teams participated, tackling the crossword puzzles and collaborative tasks with enthusiasm and strategic thinking. This round further solidified the importance of cohesion and leadership in HR. Team dreamers emerged winners and team Team Smash emerged runners up in this event.
- Case Chronicles
Case Chronicles was an overnight HR case study analysis that tested students’ analytical and presentation skills. Participants were given real-world HR scenarios to analyze and present their solutions. This event provided a platform for students to apply their theoretical knowledge to practical problems, showcasing their critical thinking and presentation skills. Eight teams were in the running for the overall championship, having demonstrated exceptional analytical prowess and creativity. Team MFC girls won this round and Team Smash emerged as runners.
Results and Conclusion
Euphoria 2024 has been an exhilarating week filled with learning, competition, and camaraderie. Each event was meticulously designed to challenge and develop various HR skills, preparing our students for their future careers in human resource management. Team Mavericks emerged the winners and took home the overall championship trophy of Euphoria 2024 sponsored by Les Saveurs.
Valedictory Ceremony Report of Euphoria 2024 – HR Week
The valedictory ceremony of Euphoria 2024 – HR Week, a significant event organized by Les Saveurs Bakery in association with the HR Forum of Poornaprajna Institute of Management (PIM), was held on Friday, 2 August 2024, at Prajna Vaibhavam Hall, PIM. The event was presided over by Dr. P. S. Aithal, Director of PIM, and graced by the Guest of Honour, Mr. Shree Harsha Upadhya, CEO of Soup Master and Les Saveurs and Prof. Diana Saldanha, Faculty co-ordinator of HR Forum.
Master of Ceremony and Opening
The event commenced with Akshatha from the 2nd MBA serving as the Master of Ceremony. Navya and Sharanya from the 2nd MBA beautifully rendered the college prayer, setting a serene and respectful tone for the ceremony.
Welcome Address and Floral Tributes
Jayalakshmi from the 2nd MBA delivered the welcome speech, warmly welcoming all guests, faculty, and students. Mr. Rahul from the 2nd MBA introduced the esteemed guests to the gathering, highlighting their achievements and contributions to the field of HR and academia.
Prof. Diana Saldanha, HR Coordinator and Convenor of HR Week, extended a floral welcome to the Director, Dr. P. S. Aithal, and Mr. Shree Harsha Upadhya. Additionally, the student HR coordinators, Navya and Priya, presented a floral welcome to Prof. Diana Saldanha.
Book Release
A highlight of the ceremony was the release of the textbook titled “Organizational Behaviour for Building Managers,” authored by Prof. Diana Saldanha. This marks the first textbook written by a faculty member of PIM and published by Poornaprajna Publications, making it a special moment for the institution. Prof. Saldanha, an alumna of PIM, expressed her gratitude to everyone who supported her in her writing journey and in organizing the week-long HR feast, Euphoria 2024.
HR Week Report
Following the book release, Ms. Harshprada from the 2nd MBA presented the HR Week Report, summarizing the various activities and events held during the week. These included Cool Cuisine, Knowledge Knights, Fusion Fest, Cohesion Carnival, and Case Chronicles, each designed to enhance different HR skills among the participants.
Presidential Address
Dr. P. S. Aithal, the Director of PIM, delivered the presidential address, congratulating Prof. Saldanha on her remarkable achievement and applauding her and her team for successfully organizing the event. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in fostering practical HR skills and team spirit among students.
Cheque Presentation and Prize Distribution
The Chief Guest, Mr. Shree Harsha Upadhya, handed over his sponsorship contribution cheque to the Director, symbolizing his support and encouragement for the HR Week. This was followed by the prize distribution ceremony, carried out by the student HR coordinators, Navya and Priya. Certificates were handed over to the members of the organizing committee by the Director Dr. P.S. Aithal. The grand moment came when Team Mavericks was declared the overall champion, taking home the Les Saveurs Euphoria 2024 – HR Week Overall Championship trophy.
Guest Address and Vote of Thanks
Mr. Shree Harsha Upadhya, in his address, expressed his pleasure with the event proceedings and congratulated all teams and organizers for their efforts and achievements. The ceremony concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Sushmitha from the 2nd MBA, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of Euphoria 2024.
