In a recent address to second-year MBA students, Dr. Krishna Kothai, Professor Emeritus of PIM and Coordinator of PCRD and PRMCSE, emphasized the profound impact of research in disciplining the mind. He highlighted the need to cultivate a research mindset, fostering an analytical and investigative orientation among students. Dr. Kothai underscored that research not only enhances the ability to question established norms but also equips students to identify and implement optimal solutions to complex problems.
The inauguration of the Research Analytics class marked a pivotal moment in this endeavor. Dr. Kothai stressed the contemporary significance of research analytics, urging students to acquire analytical skills using software tools and apply them in their research pursuits. He emphasized that such skills not only contribute to academic growth but are crucial for professional development.
Supporting this perspective, Dr. Bharath V, Director of PIM, highlighted the importance of data analysis techniques using tools such as Excel and SPSS. Dr. Bharathi Karanth, the faculty in charge of the Research Analytics classes, was also present at the event.
To facilitate effective learning, students have been divided into two batches, with each batch scheduled to attend two classes per week from 4 to 5 pm. Students would be trained on PSPP software as it is the free version of SPSS. Attendance and periodic assessments will be conducted, and e-certificates will be issued to qualifying students.
This initiative aligns with the vision of PIM to nurture holistic development and critical thinking among students, preparing them for the dynamic challenges of the professional landscape.
