Finspark 2K22, the in-house finance fest, unfolded on September 9, 2022, at Poornaprajna Institute of Management (PIM). Spearheaded by the Finance Forum, comprising student representatives Mr. Naveen R Bhat, Ms. Yashasvini, and Mr. Mayura Shetty, the event aimed to foster financial acumen among first-year MBA students and those specializing in marketing and HR at PIM.
The fest commenced with a series of competitions, including quiz sessions and paper trading. Mr. Mayura Shetty emerged victorious in the paper trading competition, specially designed to enhance stock market trading knowledge among finance specialization students.
Three rounds of a comprehensive quiz were conducted for all students, culminating in a grand final round held at the fest venue. The “Super 20” quiz, exclusively for 1st MBA students, featured rounds on July 28, 2022, and August 4, 2022, narrowing down to a thrilling final round with 5 students.
A dynamic business game, open to all students, unfolded in two rounds on August 17 and August 22, 2022, showcasing strategic acumen and teamwork. Simultaneously, a paper trading event for 2nd MBA finance specialization students took place from February 2022 to August 2, 2022, adding an interactive element to the fest.
The Fin-Glory team presented 14 issues of “Arthaprajna,” the weekly bulletin of the finance forum, with two more issues currently in production. These publications were evaluated by both alumni members and the current student cohort. Special Issue 14, titled “Tribute to Rakesh Jhunjhunwala,” received acclaim from alumni members, while Issue 13 of Volume 13 garnered appreciation from in-house readers.
In the culminating moments of Finspark 2K22, the 2nd-year MBA students clinched victory, closely followed by their first-year counterparts. Mrs. Diana Saldanha, a distinguished alumna of PIM and a Research Scholar at Mangalore University, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Dr. Krishna Kothaya motivated his presence, and Dr. Bharath V presided over the entire program.
Under the meticulous guidance of Dr. Bharathi Karanth, the faculty coordinator, Finspark 2K22 unfolded seamlessly, showcasing the collaborative efforts of students and faculty to elevate financial knowledge and engagement.
Finspark 2K22 not only encapsulated a spirit of healthy competition but also stood as a testament to the commitment of PIM to nurturing holistic education. The Finance Forum’s efforts, supported by faculty mentorship, created an impactful platform for students to delve into the realms of finance, fostering both knowledge and camaraderie.
