Diwali is the “Festival of Lights” and one of the most festive and beautiful times of the year. Diwali literally means a “Row of Lights.” It is a time when Indians all over the world rejoice.
Celebrated on the 13th/14th day in the dark half of Kartik (October – November), Diwali it is also known as Krishna Chaturdashi. It is the darkest night of the darkest period, yet it is a celebration of light. Diwali is also heralded as the triumph of good over evil.
Diwali, the festival of colours of lights, was celebrated 26th October, a day earlier with great pomp and show by PIM Students at Prajna Hall. The festival was celebrated by students of PIM by organizing the cultural competition. A total of 8 teams participated in the competition. Besides the participants, the college faculty staff also took the great initiative in glorifying programme with their presence.
PIM provided a platform for all students to showcase their talents and prepare them to light the future. On the auspicious festival of Diwali, our students illuminated the campus through the creation of dazzling Rangolis, the picturesque designing of Green Greeting Cards, along with various decorative designs which indulged students in the true festive atmosphere.
Dr. Bharathi Karanth, Associate Professor and Coordinator of Cultural Club of PIM coordinated the programme. Miss Sahana Rai and Miss Jacqueline Nikitha, PIM Alumni were the judges for the competition.
