CSR Club of PIM in Association With Adarsha Hospital Udupi organized a blood donation camp on 23rd December 2018. Dr. Chandrashekar, Medical Director of Adarsha Hospital, Dr. Bharath V, Director of Poornaprajna Institute of Management, Mr.Ravi Shastri, Trade Union Leader along with the District Health Authorities Dr. Madhusoodan Nayak and Dr.Veena were witness to the inauguration of Blood donation camp at Adarsha Hospital Udupi.
Blood donation is the greatest service to humankind. Blood cannot be prepared but can be obtained by the donors. All healthy donors in the age group of 18 to 60 years can donate blood. The preliminary investigation will be done before collecting the blood from the donors. Even after collection of the blood, it will be further segregated into different components and it will be subjected to a number of tests. Only after confirmation about quality through a number of tests and analysis, it would qualify for donation. Blood won’t be given just for the donors but for all those are in need of it said Dr. Madhuoodan Nayak, district surgeon, Udupi.
Director of the Institute Dr. Bharath V, faculty members Prof.Shivananda Bhandarkar , Dr. Bharathi Karanth, Non-teaching staff Mr.Sangamesh became the role model for the students of PIM by donating blood. Many Students participated in the blood donation camp organized by CSR club. Ms.Roshni Gowda donated blood while the rest of the students worked as volunteers for the programme.
