The ultimate way to empower a girl and a woman is to give them autonomy over their own bodies, choices, rights, relationships and education. A teenage girl has to understand her sexuality as in this stage a girl’s body starts to develop and she may not understand the biological and emotional changes she is experiencing. With this in mind Women Empowerment Cell of Poornaprajna Institute of Manangement conducted Sexual Education programme to the children of members of Kanakadasa Seva Sangha, Udupi on November 16th 2016. Students of PIM trained the children on sexual identity, their own anatomy, about consent, good touch-bad touch, protection against AIDS, etc. Children were also enlightened on sexual harassment and the laws prevailing for fighting against sexual harassment. Nikitha welcomed the gathering, Joyline Procita D’Souza proposed vote of thanks and Aparna Dinesh Rao conducted the programme. Other members of the Cell trained the children. Faculty coordinator Mrs. Sujatha G L coordinated the programme.
