IQAC Proceedings: Meeting on Saturday 7th    August, 2017

 
A meeting was conducted at the Institute on Monday 7th August, 2017 to discuss the items of the agenda given. Members present at the meeting are:

Proceedings and Resolution:

  1. The resolutions passed in the previous IQAC meeting held on 7th January, 2017 was presented in the meeting by the IQAC Coordinator.
  2. Resolved unanimously to approve the resolutions of the previous IQAC meeting held on 7th January, 2017
  3. Various activities/programmes that can be held for the betterment of students were discussed by the members present.
  4. Resolved to have guest lectures on a regular basis covering different domain and to encourage students’ participation in competitions/programmes held at other institutes.
  5. Members urged the need to have better exposure for the students and faculties of the institute.
  6.  Resolved to have corporate/social interaction
  7. Members appreciated the efforts of the Institute in conducting ‘Prajna Vaibhavam’ an in-house group competition conducted on weekly basis and rolling out ‘Arthaprajna’ an online weekly bulletin in the area of finance published by the finance specialisation students.
  8. Resolved to continue the same by including different events touching the current affairs.
  9. Members felt the need to have corporate interaction for students.
  10. Resolved to have one-day factory visit for second year students by the end of third semester.
  11. Members discussed about the commencement of first MBA classes.
  12. Resolved that an Induction Programme is to be held on the day of commencement of first MBA classes.
  13. Members discussed about the role of Parents and Alumni in the overall growth of the institute and its students.
  14. Resolved to have PTA and Alumni meeting in the month of January after the third semester exams.

  1. Resolved to recognise the efforts and contribution of the Founder Director Dr. M. R. Hegde in successfully leading the Institute for eleven years and congratulated the new Director Dr. Bharath V.
  2. Resolved to have welcome programme for the first year students by the second year students, the exact date to be decided by the Director later.
  3. Resolved to join Poornaprajna Degree College in celebrating Independence Day
  4. Resolved to celebrate Teachers day at the Institute

Action taken report for the IQAC meeting held on Monday 7th August, 2017

1. To conduct guest lectures on regular basis and to encourage students’ participation in the competitions held at other institutes Three guest lectures were held. Students of the Institute participated in the management competition held at Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology, Mangalore. Students also participated in paper presentation and productive dialogue competition organised by the MBA department of St Joseph Engineering College, Mangalore and secured first and second place.
2. To have corporate/social interaction Two of the second year students were the resource persons in the half-day workshop on the newly launched scheme of the state govt ‘Mobile Canteens for Women Entrepreneurs’. Two of the faculties – Dr. Naveen Kumar K. R. and Prof Santhosh N. Prabhu were also the resource persons.
Vijaya Bank Regional Office conducted elocution competition on the topic ‘My vision: Corruption free India’ for the students of the Institute.
3. To continue with Prajna Vaibhavam and Arthaprajna Debate and Company presentation rounds of Prajna Vaibhavam are conducted by the students in groups of six members each. Students are contributing articles on current business affairs to be published in Arthaprajna  which is mailed to the faculties and all the present and past students of PIM
4. To have one-day factory visit for the third semester students On 16th of November 2017 third semester students along with five faculties visited Mangalore SEZ and Bharati Defence and Infrastructure Ltd.
5. To have Induction Programme for the first MBA classes on the day of commencement of their classes Induction programme was held on 25th of September 2017 with the blessings of H H Swamiji, Chairman, Governing Council, Poornaprajna Institute of Management, Udupi. The secretary of the G.C. Dr. G. S. Chandrashekhar also addressed the students.
6. To have PTA and Alumni Meeting PTA and Alumni meetings were held on 27th of January 2018
7. Welcome programme for first year students A fresher’s day program 'AARAMBH 2017' was conducted by the HR Forum along with other forums of the college  on 13th October 2017.
8. Teachers’ day celebration Second year students conducted many games for the teaching and non-teaching staff; distributed prizes to winners of the games conducted by them. Also, distributed sweets after the programme.

  7. Members discussed about the inter-class competitions to be held by the three specialisation forums
  8. Resolved to have inter-class competitions by the three specialisation forums, separately
  9. Members discussed about having factory visit for first year studentsResolved that one-day factory visit to be arranged for the second semester students
  10. The Alumni present proposed to sponsor the competitions for the students of the Institute
  11. Resolved to have in-house competitions for the students of the Institute sponsored by Alumni Association
  12. Arrangement to be made regarding the sports activities for the students was discussed by the members
  13. Resolved to have various indoor sports competitions and one day outdoor sports meet for the students in the month of April.
  14. Nature of Cultural and Literary competitions to be conducted was discussed by the members
  15. Resolved to conduct competitions under various clubs during the even semester
  16. Likely dates for the conduct of Saraswati Pooja and cultural Day celebration was discussed
  17. Resolved to have Sharada Pooja and Cultural day celebration in the last week of April.

To continue with guest lecture, corporate interaction and extension activities Series of guest lectures on diverse topics are conducted. PIM along with Poornaprajna P G Centre (Dept of M Com) organised ‘Budget Analysis’ in association with Udupi Chamber of Commerce and Industries. Students of HR club visited Asha Nilaya – special school at Udupi, Manipal Technologies Ltd, and Manipal Academy of higher Education, Manipal in the month of March

NAAC preparation by faculties The Director of the Institute along with two senior faculty members visited AJIM, Mangalore in February to study the NAAC requirements/formalities required for the management institute. Two-day workshop on 29th and 30th March about NAAC preparation was held at the Institute for staff members

To have inter-class competitions by specialisation forums The three specialisation forums – finance, marketing and HR conducted inter-class competitions in the area of their domain namely FINSPARK, MARKSPROUT and ZEST, respectively.

To have factory visit for second semester students Due to hectic schedule of activities at the Institute and also due to the voluminous academic activities of the second semester, factory visit could not be arranged. However, it is decided to have the same in the next academic year during the third semester

To have Alumni sponsored competitions for the students Alumni sponsored competitions are conducted for the students of the Institute in March 2018

To have sports activities for the students Various indoor sports activities were held during the second and third week of April. One-day outdoor sports meet was held on 13th of April

To have competitions for students under the Cultural and Literary Club Various competitions under Cultural and Literary club were held during March and April

To have Sharada Pooja and Cultural Day celebrations Sharada Pooja was conducted by HH Swamiji at the Institute on 23rd of April; Cultural Day was celebrated on May 5th where winners in various competitions were felicitated
